Physical Characteristics

Olde English Goldendoodles are known to look like teddy bears with a beautiful round face and sturdy structured body. The combination of these three breeds (Olde English Sheepdog, Golden Retriever, and Poodle) has given us soft, fleecy coats with a very plush texture which tend to be non shedding. The typical grown weight for our dogs is 55-70 lbs.

Activity

The Olde English Goldendoodle is typically a mild mannered dog with a moderate energy level. Their exercise requirements are not excessive; two 30-45 minute walks a day work well. They tend to be inquisitive dogs and love to explore, making them great dogs for hiking, camping or going on family outings.

This family has had quite the journey adding a pup to their family for the first time! God has been evident through the whole process, although it was not always seen right in the moment. They initially thought they wanted an older pup, which we have two, Brownie and Patrick, from our first litter. Brownie was their pick so a road trip to Iowa was made to try him out for a week. The kids were told they were dog sitting and then they were going to bring him back, whether it went well or not, and then if it did, tell the kids on Christmas day they were going to keep him forever and pick them up after Christmas on their way home from visiting family in Iowa. They fell in LOVE BIG! Everything was going well and then he nipped at the baby. She was not hurt, PTL, but it’s not something that they felt they could risk. Quinn’s, the dad, heart was broken. They all really loved Brownie but everyone new it was the best decision. Another trip to Iowa to bring Brownie back home. No thoughts of leaving with a puppy but God had different plans. Steph left with light blue girl, aka Layla. Another dog sitting job for the Carr family, but this time they get to keep her forever. I share this because getting a dog is a big decision and it has to be the right fit. Steph has never had a dog before and so it took some work on her heart and dying to herself to take the plunge to make the commitment for the sake of her husband and kids. It’s worked out the way it was supposed to and I think that’s something to hold on to in thick of bringing a puppy into your family. It’s work but with the work comes so much joy.Thank you Carr family for letting us be a part of this fun journey. Layla is where she belongs!First pics are of Brownie. You can see how much they loved him!Second pics are of sweet Layla. Video of the kids finding out to follow. ... See MoreSee Less
